-Was brachte dich dazu, Amateur zu gründen, selbständig zu sein?
Soweit ich mich erinnern kann habe ich es immer geliebt mit Scheren und Stoffen zu hantieren und vielleicht ist es auch ein wenig Veranlagung, da meine Oma Schneiderin war. Wenn ich mit ihrem Nähkorb spielen durfte war ich happy! Also wollte ich nach der Unterstufe fix eine Modeschule besuchen. Als Teenager kam aber alles anders und ich habe mich doch für eine andere Ausbildung entschieden und erst Jahre später wieder zurück zur Mode gefunden. Dann ging alles recht schnell – ich habe meinen 40h Job als Innenausstatterin geschmissen, das Modelabel amateur gegründet, das erstes Mal beim Modepalast mitgemacht und dann gleich einen eigenen Shop mit angrenzendem Atelier im 6. Bezirk eröffnet.
Nach 6 Jahren kam mein Kind und der Wunsch nach mehr Platz.
Im Februar 2013 kam es also zum Umzug und der damit einhergehen Kollaboration mit einem Fahrradaden und einem Café im Conceptstore Block44. Ich beschäftige mich also schon seit Jahren mit avantgardistischer Mode für den urbanen Alltag. Meine tragbaren Kreationen lassen sich hervorragend mit eigenen Basics kombinieren. Fließende Stoffe und raffinierte Schnitte mit großen Kapuzen, Krägen und Ausschnitten bilden die Grundlage der sportlich-eleganten Kollektionen von amateur.
Die Selbständigkeit ist mit Sicherheit nicht immer einfach aber ich bereue es keine Sekunde und bin sehr dankbar für die vielen tollen Möglichkeiten!
-Was ist deine größte Kompetenz?
Ich denke, meine Stärke liegt in der Leidenschaft und Motivation für meine Arbeit und die daraus resultierende Produktivität.
-Was macht dich glücklich?
So richtig glücklich bin ich wenn alles gut läuft. Wenn meine Tochter zufrieden und gesund ist, wir zu Hause gut vorankommen (bauen gerade unser Haus um) und wenn die Arbeit mit guten Verkäufen und netten Kundinnen belohnt wird.
-Wie motivierst du dich in schwierigen Zeiten/Phasen?
Ich plane meine Vorhaben für gute Zeiten/Phasen und tausche mich viel mit lieben Kolleginnen und Freundinnen aus.

-What drove you to found Amateur, to be self-employed
As far as I can remember, I always loved playing with scissors and maerials. Maybe it`s genetic dispositional, my grandmother was a dress maker. If I was allowed to play with a sewing basket – I was happy! So when I was in lower grade, I knew for sure I want to go to a fashion shool. But as a teenager everything turned out differently – and I decided to for another education.
Years later I found my way back to fashion. Then everything happened very quickly. I quit my fulltime job as an interior decorateur. I founded my label amateur. I was part of Modepalast. And I opened my own shop with abutting studio in the 6th district of Vienna.
After six years I got pregnant and my child was born. And so came my desire for more space. So in february 2013 there was the move to & the collaboration with a bycicle store and a Café in the consept store Block44. So I am dealing for years with avantgardistic fashion for the urban daily life.
My wearable creations are great to combine with basics. Flowing materials and refined cuts, big hooded, collars, cuttings, are the basement of the sporty & elegant collections of amateur.
Self-employment is not easy for sure. But I do not regret my self-employment any second and I am very thankful for all the great options!
-What is your greatest competence?
I think my strength is the passion and motivation for my work and the resulting productivity.
-What makes you happy?
If everything goes well, then I am really happy. If my daughter is satisfied and happy. If at home everything is working out well (we are building a house right now) and when my work is appreciated through sales and nice customers.
-How do you motivate yourself on a bad day?
I make plans for the good times and have conversations with my lovely network and friends.
